Concrete contractor · Langley, BC

Concrete done right the first time.

Driveways, stamped and exposed-aggregate concrete, patios, walkways and repairs — excavated, compacted, reinforced and hand-finished by one licensed, insured crew.

Why LUXX

Most concrete fails from the ground up. So every LUXX job starts below the surface.

Slabs poured straight onto topsoil settle, crack and heave within a few winters. We dig out, build on compacted gravel, reinforce, then finish and seal by hand — the same way on a front step as on a three-car driveway.

Base
Compacted gravel — never poured on topsoil
Mix
32 MPa air-entrained concrete, made for freeze–thaw
Steel
Rebar or wire mesh, plus saw-cut control joints

Finishes & colour

Choose your finish

Every finish sits on the same properly built slab. What changes is the surface — its grip, its upkeep and its look.

Built from the base up

What's under the slab matters most.

We replace a lot of sunken, cracked slabs that were poured straight onto soil. A compacted gravel base is the difference between concrete that lasts decades and concrete that fails in a few winters.

  1. 01

    Even thickness

A levelled, compacted base keeps the slab the same depth everywhere — no thin spots waiting to crack.

  2. 02

    Spreads the load

Compacted gravel carries weight far better than organic fill — the same principle used to build roads.

  3. 03

    Drains water away

Gravel drains, so water can't sit under the slab and freeze. Less trapped moisture means less frost heave.

How it works

The process

Most driveways and patios take 2–4 days on site. Stamped and decorative work can take up to a week, weather depending.

  1. Free estimate

We visit, measure, check slope and drainage, walk you through finishes and leave a written quote.

  2. Excavate & base

Old concrete and soil come out and are hauled away. Gravel goes in and is compacted in lifts.

  3. Form & reinforce

Forms are set so water runs away from your home. Rebar or mesh goes in on chairs.

  4. Pour & finish

Concrete is placed, levelled and finished — broom, exposed or stamped — and control joints are cut.

  5. Cure & seal

Curing protects the slab as it gains strength. Sealer goes on once it's ready, with a care guide for you.

In their words

They dug out our old driveway, fixed the slope that was sending water into the garage and poured a new one in three days. The street was cleaner when they left than when they arrived.

Driveway replacement

We couldn't pick a pattern, so they brought samples and showed us how the sealer changes the colour. Our stamped patio looks like real slate.

Stamped patio

Quoted on time, started when they said and finished on budget. Great communication from the estimate right through the final walkthrough.

It depends on the size and slope, how much old concrete or asphalt has to come out, access for trucks and the finish — stamped and exposed aggregate cost more than broom finish. We give exact, written prices after a free on-site visit.

Most driveways and patios take 2–4 days on site. Stamped and decorative work usually takes 3–7 days, depending on size and weather.

Foot traffic after 24–48 hours and cars after 7 days. Concrete reaches its full design strength at about 28 days, so keep heavy trucks and trailers off until then.

All concrete can develop hairline cracks. A compacted base, reinforcement, properly spaced control joints and careful curing keep cracks small — and where they belong, inside the joints.

Sealed concrete can be slick when wet, so we mix an anti-slip grit into the sealer on pool decks, steps and walkways.

Reseal every 2–3 years, wash with mild soap and water, and skip de-icing salts — especially in the first winter. Sand gives traction without damaging the surface.

Yes — integral colour mixed through the concrete, colour hardeners and release agents for stamped work, stains and tinted sealers. Sealer deepens colour slightly, so we bring samples to your estimate.

Concrete cures best between 10 and 24 °C. Outside that range we adjust the mix and use curing blankets or compounds — and we never pour on frozen ground.

Absolutely. Single steps, landing pads, crack repairs and short walkways are all welcome.
